Leg #9 - July, 2008 - Riding out west, then on to South Aftica!

The Gnome joined Edwin and Janet in Colorado. I'm not quite sure how he got out there, but I'm pretty sure it was on a motorcycle. Edwin and Janet are from South Africa, and they joined up with the Gnome while visiting the United States, then they took him back to South Africa. The Gnome is now officially international!
Because of the current state of affairs in South Africa, communication has been difficult. But, Edwin has checked in and shared some pictures. Edwin wrote:
Hi All,
Yes the Gnome is here in South Africa with the crazy South African. After Rockies-Gold he travelled with us back to Phoenix via Santa Fe and Alberquerque. He was taken out last weekend to a charity event for cancer and had a good time. After that we took him for a ride along Durban's beachfront and to the yacht basin.
At the end of the month he will go to the Dragon Rally to be held South of Durban. There he will be passed on to someone else to show him a good time on his travel.

Gnomes get themselves into some mysterious unexpalinabel rituals... the details of which cannot be explained here.
In August, Edwin posted the following message:
Sorry to one and all but have been extremely busy to post on the Gnomes where abouts. However the Gnome went to the Dragon Rally end of July and had a great time. The Gnome has been passed on to Joe and Lesely Boes from the Hughway Dragons Motorcycle Club in South Africa. Joe and Lesley will be taking him to Swaziland at the end of August where he will be passed on again.
As soon as I have time I will post more pic. Please be patient as Janet and I are extremely busy as we are in the process of immigrating.
